Dental Crowns in Coquitlam
Dental crowns can be both temporary and permanent. These hollow caps help protect your teeth and hide any imperfections you want to conceal without having to remove the tooth. They are made for you to match your tooth colour and shape. Crowns help mask mishappen teeth, discolouration, large fillings, chips, and other imperfections. They can be made out of metal, porcelain, or resin.
What Happens During My Appointment?
Getting dental crowns can be a bit of a process and may not be completed in just one appointment. Your dentist needs to take X-rays to assess your oral health and decide if filling material needs to be added to your teeth. Impressions of your teeth need to be taken and sent to a dental lab. When the crowns are ready, an anesthetic will be applied to the area, and the crowns will be fitted down to the gums.
Can I Get Dental Crowns?
This is something to speak to your dentist about, as every patient’s circumstances differ. At Coquitlam City Dentist, we are more than happy to help guide you through the process, and most people are good candidates for dental crowns. However, if you have dental health issues such as gum disease, that issue will need to be resolved first.
